Dynamics

In designing a dynamic store,  I researched and case studied shopping centers, malls, and big box stores.  Each had similar attributes, in that they have a variety of merchandise organized by pathways.  I categorized elements of the case studies into four components – entrances, organization, pathways, and sections, in order to compare and contrast them, and to look for dynamics and patterns.  I decided to create my building by developing these four components dynamically, and engaging them together.  During this process, the prototype created a new series of components each using dynamics in their own way – Building Shape, Building Types, Retail Interior, Pathways and Interior Circulation, Windows, Shelving, Ceiling, and Wall Section.
